Appliance installation in Jacksonville, done right the first day

Delivery crews drop the box. Installation is the part that decides whether the new refrigerator leaks, the range tips or the wall oven trips the breaker. We do that part carefully.

New refrigerator being installed in a Jacksonville kitchen
Quick answer

Appliance installation in Jacksonville covers setting a new refrigerator, range or wall oven into place, connecting water, power or gas, leveling it, fitting anti-tip brackets on ranges, and running it through a test. We check the opening, the outlet and the connections before the old unit comes out.

What a proper install includes

Most installation problems start before the appliance arrives: an opening a half inch too narrow, a range outlet with the wrong plug, a water valve that will not shut off, or a wall oven cutout that does not match the new model. We ask for the model numbers when you book and check the specifications against the space, so install day is not the day you find out.

On the day, the old appliance comes out, the connections are inspected and replaced if they are worn, and the new one goes in level and square. Then it runs: water through the dispenser, a bake test on the oven, a full burner check on the range.

Cost

What affects installation cost

Installation is priced per appliance after we know the model and the space. Simple swaps cost the least; new connections, cabinet adjustments and gas work add to it.

  • Swap or new location. A like-for-like swap is the simplest install.
  • New water line or valve. Replacing worn connections adds parts.
  • Wall oven cutout. Cutout changes need cabinet work.
  • Haul-away. Taking the old unit is an add-on.

No flat price over the phone. We price after the diagnosis, part and labor separately, so you can decide before any work starts.

The jobs this page covers

01

Refrigerator Installation

We confirm the cabinet opening, the door swing and the path through your house, then remove the old refrigerator and inspect the water valve and line behind it. Old plastic or kinked lines are replaced with braided stainless line. The new refrigerator is leveled front to back so the doors close on their own, the water line is connected and flushed, and the filter is installed. We leave the ice maker running and tell you to discard the first few batches of ice, which is normal with a new line.

Range and Wall Oven Installation

Ranges are checked against the outlet or gas connection, and every freestanding range gets its anti-tip bracket fitted, because a range without one can tip forward when someone leans on the open door. Wall ovens are wired into the junction box, slid into the cutout and secured to the cabinet. If the new oven's cutout differs from the old one, we tell you before install day so a cabinet adjustment can be planned instead of discovered. Every oven gets a bake test before we leave.

03

Old Appliance Haul-Away

When you ask, we take the old appliance with us after the new one is running, so you are not left with a refrigerator in the garage. Refrigerators and freezers contain refrigerant, and they need to be handled by someone who disposes of them properly rather than left at the curb. We also take packing material and the delivery boxes when we can, and we leave the area around the new appliance vacuumed and clean. Just tell us when you book.

Installing new appliances in older Jacksonville homes

Most of Riverside was built between the 1901 Great Fire and the late 1920s, and kitchens there and in other older Jacksonville neighborhoods often have openings, outlets and water valves that were never sized for today's appliances. We check those details before install day and tell you if an outlet, valve or cabinet needs attention, so the new appliance can go straight in.

Step by step

How installation day goes

  1. 1

    Check specs ahead

Model numbers compared with the opening.

  2. 2

    Remove the old unit

Connections inspected and replaced if worn.

  3. 3

    Install

    Set, connect, level and secure.

  4. 4

    Test and clean up

    Each function tested, area cleaned.

Timing

How long an installation takes

A refrigerator or range swap usually takes about an hour. Wall ovens take longer because they are wired and secured into the cabinet, and a double wall oven needs two people. New water lines or valves add a little time, which we plan into the booking.
