Refrigerator Repair
Not cooling, leaking, noisy or frosting over. We find the failed part and fix most brands in your kitchen.
DetailsWine coolers are small refrigerators that live in hot cabinetry with very little breathing room. Most failures start with heat that cannot get out of the toe kick.
Updated October 2026

Wine cooler repair in Jacksonville usually involves a failed condenser or interior fan, a temperature sensor or control board, or a door seal. We check airflow through the front grille first, then the controls, and quote the repair before starting.
Undercounter wine coolers and beverage centers exhaust heat through a small grille at the front kick plate. When that grille is blocked by dust or a rug, or the fan behind it fails, the compressor runs hot and the cabinet warms. A beverage center that holds 38 degrees and a wine cooler meant to hold 55 can both drift several degrees before anyone notices.
Some smaller freestanding coolers use thermoelectric cooling instead of a compressor. Those depend on a fan and a cooling module, and they struggle to cool much below room temperature in a warm Florida room.
Cost
Wine cooler repairs are quoted after diagnosis. Fans and sensors are modest repairs; a control board or sealed-system problem on a small unit can approach the price of replacement, and we will say so.
No flat price over the phone. We price after the diagnosis, part and labor separately, so you can decide before any work starts.
DIY or call
| Task | Safe to try yourself | Call a technician |
|---|---|---|
| Dusty front grille | Vacuum the kick plate grille | If it still runs warm afterward |
| Door not closing | Check for a shelf or bottle blocking it | If the gasket is torn or the door sags |
| Wrong temperature | Confirm the setting and the display units | If it never reaches the setting |
The jobs this page covers
Beverage centers are set much colder than wine coolers, often in the high 30s, so their evaporators frost more and their fans work harder. That makes the interior fan and the defrost behavior the first things we check, followed by the thermistor that tells the control what temperature the cabinet really is. A sensor that reads a few degrees off will hold the cabinet too warm without throwing any error. We also look at the door gasket, because a beverage center is opened many times a day and the seal wears quickly.

When one zone of a dual-zone cooler drifts and the other holds its setting, the compressor is almost never the problem. The usual cause is the damper that splits the cold air, the fan for that zone, or that zone's temperature sensor. We read the sensor resistance against the chart for your model before touching the control board, and we watch the damper open and close. Fixing the right one of those small parts brings the drifting zone back without replacing an expensive board that was never at fault.
An undercounter cooler has two fans that matter. The condenser fan behind the kick plate pushes the heat out of the cabinet opening, and the interior fan moves cold air around the bottles. Both wear out, and a ticking, buzzing or scraping sound from the base is the usual warning before one stops. When the condenser fan dies, the cabinet opening heats up, the compressor overheats and shuts off on its overload, and the cooler warms. Replacing the fan early saves the compressor from that cycle.
Wine coolers set into outdoor kitchens and lanai bars near Ponte Vedra Beach and Fernandina Beach breathe salt air through the same small grille, and the condenser fins corrode faster there than inside a house. If your cooler is installed outdoors we check that it is rated for outdoor use, because an indoor unit in that spot rarely lasts.

FAQ
Usually blocked or dirty airflow at the front grille, a failed fan, or a sensor telling the control the wrong temperature.
Name-brand built-in units are usually worth repairing. Small store-brand units with a failed compressor often are not.
It is not a good idea in Florida. Indoor units are not built for the heat, humidity and salt air outdoors.
Frost builds when the door seal leaks or the defrost cycle is not working. We check both.
Yes, and commercial back-bar coolers are covered on our commercial refrigeration page.
