Appliance Installation
New refrigerators, ranges and wall ovens set in, leveled, connected and tested, with the old one hauled away on request.
DetailsA new washer that walks across the floor or a new dryer pushed back onto a crushed hose is an install problem, not a machine problem. We set laundry pairs up so they run quietly and dry properly.
Updated October 2026

Washer and dryer installation in Jacksonville includes removing shipping bolts, connecting hoses and the drain, fitting the correct dryer cord, connecting the vent with metal duct, stacking with the matching kit when needed, leveling both machines and running a test cycle on each.
Front-load washers ship with transit bolts that lock the drum. Leave one in and the washer shakes itself apart on the first spin. The drain hose needs the right height in the standpipe, the supply hoses need new washers, and the machine has to be level on all four feet.
Dryers come without a power cord, because homes use three-prong and four-prong outlets. The cord has to match the outlet and the ground strap has to be set correctly. Then the vent: a short, straight metal transition duct, not a crushed foil hose pushed against the wall.
Cost
We price laundry installs per pair after we know the models and the space. Stacking, gas connections and vent work change the total.
No flat price over the phone. We price after the diagnosis, part and labor separately, so you can decide before any work starts.
Compare the options
| Point | Stacked | Side by side |
|---|---|---|
| Floor space | Half the width | Full width needed |
| Repairs | Dryer may need to come down | Each machine easy to reach |
| Venting | Tight, low-profile connector | Standard transition duct |
| Folding space | None on top | Counter space on top of front-loaders |
The jobs this page covers
Stacking a front-load dryer on a front-load washer needs the stacking kit made for that pair. We lift the dryer with two people, fit the kit so the dryer is locked to the washer, and check that the combined height leaves room for the vent connection and the controls. Stacked pairs vent through tight spaces, so we use a low-profile metal connector where a regular hose would crush. Before we leave, we run the washer through a spin with the dryer on top to make sure nothing walks or rattles.

We fit a three-prong or four-prong cord to match your outlet and set the ground strap correctly for that cord. Gas dryers are connected with a new flexible connector and leak-tested. The vent gets a semi-rigid or rigid metal transition duct cut to length, clamped at both ends and checked for airflow at the outside hood. If the existing vent run is clogged, we tell you, because a new dryer on a clogged vent will run slowly from the first load.
Rubber washer hoses get brittle and burst, and a burst hose releases water until someone shuts the valve. We replace old rubber hoses with braided stainless hoses and new washers, check that both valves open and close fully, and confirm the drain hose sits at the right height in the standpipe without being pushed down so far that it siphons. We also check the washer pan and drain if the laundry sits upstairs or in a closet over finished floors.
What is included
Arlington grew faster than any other part of Jacksonville for about two decades after the Mathews Bridge opened in 1953, and many houses from that boom, including subdivisions like Sandalwood, have small laundry closets with older valves and long vent runs. Those spaces leave little room for full-size modern pairs, so we measure depth and door swing before delivery when you send us the model numbers.
